Walks and Ponytails.

I was in the process of writing this blog post yesterday when my boyfriend Ross pulled the plug on my laptop and forced me to go on a walk. I wasn't happy to say the least but admittedly I really did enjoy the walk as it was such a lovely evening and there was practically no one about. If you follow me on instagram (safiyamarie) then you can have a looksee at some picture we took.

Dress: H&M
Cardigan:Saved from being chucked out

Moving away from being forced to do exercise here is what I wore to my friends house on Thursday. I took these photos when I got back hence the flash and what not. I don't think they turned out too bad but I do prefer my normal shots.

I bought this dress a couple summers ago and wore it for the first time at a house party. I ended up getting rather drunk and jumping out of a window (it seemed the best idea at the time) and catching the dress on the side of the window resulting in a giant hole. Upon discovering the giant hole I cried. A lot.

I'm proud to say that I've recovered from the traumatic event and have since patched up the hole.

I'm also wearing a cardigan? Waistcoat? Wooly thing without sleeves? Seriously someone one help me out here. Anyway, I retrieved this item from a bag of my dads clothes that my mum was chucking out. I just love throwing it over otherwise 'boring' outfits and is great for the summer if it's a bit nippy but not nippy enough for a cardigan.

Going off track here, but wasn't the Olympic Opening Ceremony awesome? Well apart from the hobbit bit at the beginning of course. What did you guys reckon to it? Personally the best bit was the giant blow up Voldemort, I mean how awesome was that?

Just as a bit of a dread update: they're coming along nicely though some of them are still wrapped in wool and I've banded the roots of some of them as the roots are a tad loose. I guess only time will tell. I've decided to leave my top layer of hair loose as I think it suits my face better and still allows me to do other things with my hair. Perhaps I'll dread the whole of it in the future, we shall see.

Ross did my hair for me yesterday before we went on our walk, it turned out really pretty don't you think? I might have to enlist his help with my hair more often.

Here's the Beatles:

Because I've had this in my head all day.

I Am Not A Robot.

Good evening everyone. I'm currently typing up a list of things to take to university with me, and my gosh I'm going to need to travel down in a lorry looking at how long my list is at the moment. And it's not even finished.

One thing I am certain is going to take up the most space is my clothes. My mum keeps telling me that all I'll need is a couple pair of jeans, a jumper and trainers as that's what she lived in. I don't even own any trainers.

Cardigan: Dads
Shirt: Charity Shop
Shorts: Customised
Belt: Vintage

This shirt is definitely something I'll be taking with me despite the fact that its missing a button and the top one only stays closed with the aid of a concealed safety pin. I have bought some buttons to replace these temperamental ones but just haven't got round to it yet. Like many things on my growing to do list.

These are most likely my most worn pair of shorts, so much so that they recently decided to give up on me and create two rips at the base (see right hand bum cheek). As a way to resurrect them I patched them up with some spare floral fabric which I then also applied to the opposite pocket just to tie the whole thing together. I think it adds a nice subtle feature to the shorts and gives them a new lease of life.

Well for now. I have a feeling they're standing on their last legs.

*Just doing a spot of yoga*

My sister has been down in London with her boyfriend for the past few days so I've been spoilt by having the room to myself for a while as I unfortunately share a room (bummer, I know). However the indulgence is coming to an end as she comes back today which means I've had to clear the room of all my messy ongoing DIY projects.

I have documented some of my DIYs as I've gone along but they just seem either too unique to a specific item or just clumsy (I often make things up as I go along) to post them up on this here blog of mine. I did however manage to purchase some fabric dye for tie dying some bedding, so I'll hopefully be able to share with you the results and process with you.

In other news I finally started making some dreads! I've only made three so far right at the back of my head of which you can see a picture on my Tumblr. I'm really excited about making more, though I'm going to leave these for a week to see how they get on and such things before adding to them.

Right I reckon that's enough from me. Here's a little something to sweeten up your ears:

Rain.

Good evening dears, as promised I sought another photo taking location and tried to make them seem more 'interesting'. My boyfriend Ross was over on Saturday so I thought I would give him the honour of taking some outfit shots for me.

We'd gone into town during the day where it was quite sunny so naturally I thought it would be sunny enough to take some outfit shots outside, how wrong was I? We were on the bus back it began to literally pour it down. So hence the indoor photos.

Top: Primark
Skirt: Hand me down from friend
Creepers: Ebay

I didn't really buy anything that interesting, tights from Primark and some buttons for a skirt I wanted to customise (Picture of it up on my Instagram and Twitter: Search for safiyamarie). We then went to Starbucks where I people watched and Ross marveled at my bloody iPhone. I swear that thing is getting more attention than me, lol.

*Excuse the russian doll*

*My hair looks awful cos it got rained on :( *

Anyway, enough about my boring life. Onto the outfit. I've had this skirt for a while but just not worn it much despite loving it. The annoying thing with it is that it constantly twists and rises up when I walk, which is a shame as it looks so nice. I paired it with a basic top from Primark and tied it in a knot at the side (which you cant really see in the pictures but we'll pretend you can) to make it into a bit of a crop top. I was going to give it the chop but I quite like the way it looked with the knot in, so I guess its safe from the scissors... for now.

I'm starting to get belly ache now. Does anyone else get that when they're tired? Just me? Thought so.

And on that note, here's something to pleasure your ears:

Because I love their whole bloody album.

Dungarees Galore.

Hello there, I was going to be adventurous and take some photos outside but the rain became so torrential I ran back inside and chickened out. So here I am back in the comfort of my own bedroom and blank wall. I am going to try make my photos more interesting in the future, so watch this space.

 Dungarees: Funky Divaa
Black T-Shirt: Primark
Fishnets: Primark

Anyway, this is a long overdue post as I ordered these wonderful dungarees at the beginning of the month, oops. I purchased them after seeing the lovely Amy blog about a different pair and share a cheeky discount code for 50% off, meaning these babies only cost me a tenner. Score.

They are a tad too big as I quickly changed the size when I got to the checkout. I had a sudden panic that my ghetto booty wouldn't fit into a 10. It seems now it would have done. No matter, it now means that if my arse does get bigger (please no!) then I'll still fit into these wonderful things. I really am in love with them, just in case you didn't know.

*Casually showing off my new ring, again.*
Ring: H&M
Daisy Chain Necklace: Present

*Duck face: Am I doing it right?*

Go on admit it, you've missed me.

Creepers: Ebay

It seems that no outfit of mine has been complete without my creepers. Seriously, I wear them all the time. I'm quite please with how well they're lasting seeing as they're cheap knock-offs from China, so much so that I'm considering buying another pair. The only hard bit is choosing a colour. What's your fave creeper colour?

Also, as I finally got my iphone up and running my friend insisted I get Instagram and Twitter and Draw Something and this and that. I never knew there were so many apps! You can literally do everything with these fancy phones can't ya? I know I sound like an old grandma, but I am honestly amazed by it. Just goes to show how uncool I am, lol. Anyway, if you so with to follow me on Instagram just search safiyamarie and my face should pop up.

Because listening to this on the bus makes me feel like I'm in a film.

Here Comes The Sun.

Hello there guys, hope you're all enjoying the sun whilst it lasts. I've heard there's rain on the way. Boo! This is an outfit I wore yesterday when me and Ross went for a little picnic in the park to enjoy the sun. I believe this is the first time I have gotten my legs out this year. Since the sun came out I've been living in maxi skirts but it just got to a point where it was just too god damn hot.

Though I do hope the weather holds out just for a while longer. Me and Daisy are planning a collaboration soon and I was planning on venturing into my garden to take some pictures. We're going for a Jubilee theme so watch out for that!

I was also planning on throwing a little garden party in celebration for the Jubilee, I just hope it doesn't rain! Of course I'll be sharing it with you all and perhaps showing you how I'm going to do/make a few things. I'm really looking forward to it.

Body: River Island
Shorts: Hand me down
Belt: Vintage
Sunglasses: Primark

I got ready at my friend's house for prom on Friday but I left literally all my make-up and my creepers... and some clothes... and my hair brush...and my fave bra. I pretty much left everything! So I've been going sans le maquillage for a couple days but my skin is so bad I don't know what I'm gonna do about school tomorrow. I'll have to raid my old makeup bags for something.

Or wear a paper bag over my head.

*My cat being a cutie*

*Mine and Ross' s picnic, consisting of ale, jelly beans and humus*

That's it from me for now. So here's a bit of the Beatles:

Because this song is great.

We'll Meet Again.

Hello everyone, hope you all had a great weekend as I had a fabulous one. Yesterday me and my friend Josie went to a 1940s weekend in a village near where we live and we had a great time! We both dressed up, me as a land girl (as you can see below) and she as a rather glamorous lady who lunches. We must have looked quite the part as quite a few people were asking us for pictures which was a little odd but great all the same.

Dungarees; Ebay
Shirt: God knows, primary school one probs
Scarf: Charity Shop
Jacket: Don't know
Shoes: Mum's

*Oh I am an idiot sometimes*

 *These people looked so good*

We had a great day walking around and having a nosy round the stalls and shops. Bloody expensive mind. We watched a lady sing we'll meet again by Vera Lynn before heading to the pub for a drink and watching the parade go past. We then got a burger and sat on a bench munching away, which was fine until a great many people began taking pictures of us in our outfits. I can't promise that there wont be an awful shot of me with a mouth full of burger on some poor persons camera. I am not the most elegant of eaters.

So if I am on your camera looking ugly, I am sorry.

On that note I better start some revision as these exams aint gonna pass themselves. Would be bloody great if they did though.

Because this makes me want to step back in time.

xx

Also, thank you for all your lovely comments, I read and reply to every single one.

Exogenesis.

Hello there, hope you're all having a fab Thursday. In all honesty this week has been going so slow, I'm so glad It's Friday tomorrow.

Anyhoo, this is an outfit I wore yesterday even though I was literally going into school for an exam. Yep, I had my French A2 speaking yesterday and I was bricking it. We had an external examiner come in and, well, she was a little eccentric to say the least. She kept interrupting me to ask another question but she was nodding a lot so I guess that's a good sign. Ah well, we shall see.

Back onto the outfit: I felt like wearing an item that I hadn't worn in a while, you know, get use out of what I've got and what not. I rediscovered this maxi skirt I bought a while ago from Topshop lurking in the bottom of my draw and decided to don the thing. I have only previously worn it once, once! - Terrible. Although, I feel a tad conscious of my rear end in it as the skirt is pretty figure hugging and I, well, don't have the smallest of bums. Hence the shirt around the waist.

Leopard Print Body: Ebay
Maxi Skirt: Topshop
Denim Waistcoat: DIY
Checked Shirt: H&M
Hat: Boyfriends

Owl Necklace: Boyfriend
Elephant Necklace: Ebay
Red Necklace: DIY

I'm eating one of these delicious things right now, they're so yummy. And only 90 odd pence from good ol' Tesco. Also, my boyfriend Ross would appreciate it if you'd take the time to fill out a music questionnaire for him about the relationship between music and memory for his music course. You can fill it out here. It's really simple and will take no time at all. Thank you if you do.

Right ho I reckon that's it from me. I'll leave you with this:

 Because Muse are awesome.

Je ne sais pas.

I have my french speaking re-sit tomorrow morning. Let's just say I'm a little nervous. I don't know why though as I did it last year and my french is much better now, well I hope it is. I guess I just don't want to get a D, again.

French aside, this is what I wore on Tuesday (sorry I'm a bit late with posting atm) as I was having a fat day so I opted for my maxi dress and a loose jumper. It was looking a bit dark so I popped one some bright red lipstick to cheer it up a bit. It still looks dark though. Nevermind.
 Dress: H&M
Shirt:Secondhand
Jumper: Secondhand
Necklace: Ebay

As I said earlier I have been feeling a tad chubby lately and I guess it's within reason as I have put on some weight and don't exercise nearly as much as I should. However, this is all about to change. I worked out yesterday and although aching today I'm gonna push on and work out tomorrow as-well and every other day henceforth. It's not just to loose the recent fat that I've put on, but to get fit too. I'd like to be toned, strong and healthy. I'm not going to weigh myself at all but measure myself instead as A) I don't have any working scales and B) I'd like to build muscle which weighs more than fat anyway.

I'm using getting another piercing as an incentive to keep going.

Because it's the eye of the tiger.

Feeling Dreadful.

I cant believe it's only Tuesday. I just want to crawl back into bed and sleep for 50 years then wake up and wonder why I have a beard and wrinkles. I imagine my hair would be down to my feet by then, as it grows at such a ridiculous rate, and I would dust the floor with my long locks as I walked. Hey, It would save me hoovering all the time. I realise I'm rambling now. Sorry.

Here is an outfit I wore last week but didn't have time to post unfortunately. I love the colour of this top which looks rather brown in these photos but IRL it's actually quite plum-y. The skirt I'm wearing was a spontaneous buy from The October Union as it was on sale for five dollars. You can see me wearing it in this post too.

Skirt: The October Union
Top: Primark

Elephant Necklace: Ebay
Cross Necklace: Ebay
Ring: Ebay
Owl Necklace: Present from Ross

What is it with me and pirate faces, eh? Anyway, as you can see I decided to make myself an experimental dread, although I'm lacking in a crochet hook and so I have a lot of loose hair at the moment. I am planning on taking it out for my prom (thanks to this video I realised I wouldn't need to shave my head) as I would like to look elegant, lol, before I head off to uni and become a full time scruff.

Right, I'm going to curl up with a hot water bottle as my stomach is killing me, watch youtube videos on how to make my dread look less shit and read my friends Nanowrimo from last year all washed down with a cup of tea.

Because Amelie is a cracking film.

Also, anyone out there who has dreadlocks and could help out a failing novice?

Preppy

Hope you're all having a great Friday, personally I have been longing for this weekend so bad. I need sleep! Alas, it's my brothers birthday tomorrow so I'll be up bright and early as I'm taking him for a ride on a steam train, which is gonna be really cute.

I wanted to wear something comfortable and easy yesterday as I was in one of those ergh moods so I donned the t-shirt I got my boyfriend for Christmas and a comfy jumper.

 Boyfriend's Top: H&M
Jumper: Charity Shop
Shorts: DIY
Scarf: Charity Shop

Not got a lot to say today, I'm pretty boring to be honest. So I'll leave you with a song.
