Hello there everyone. Just doing a quick post to let you know that I haven't forgotten about my little blog but I have honestly been so caught up in panicking and getting ready for university that I haven't had a chance to take pictures or anything.
Though to be honest the majority of my clothes are already packed leaving me with only a few bits and pieces to last me until I go. Cue living in the same T-shirt and shorts.
I travel down to Kent on Saturday and I'll definitely keep up to blogging whilst I'm at university. If anyone knows anywhere in Canterbury where I can snap up cheap bargains then do let me know! I've heard charity shops are quite good there so I'm sure I'll be taking a nosy not long after I arrive.
I'm pretty excited and my only worries are my ID and railcard arriving before I go. I'm traveling down on the train and if I don't have my railcard I'll have to pay full fare for a new ticket. Fingers crossed eh?
So yeah. That's about it, expect a new blog post this time next week from my new room.
I'm currently working my way through a bag of mint Werther's Originals and quite frankly they are delicious! My sweet tooth just cannot be contained. I'm going to be one of those people that just lives off sweets at university. With no teeth. Anyway, my car boot venture at the weekend went pretty well if I do say so myself. I picked up a couple items and will share them with you as soon as they're out of the wash. As much as I love charity shops and car boots the clothes always stink. Always. So a quick spin in the washing machine is a definite must.
Dress: Charity Shop
Cardigan: Internationale (back in the day)
This dress is one I picked up a while ago from a charity shop and posted about in my charity shop treasures post.I must admit I don't know why it took me so long to finally wear it. Its a gorgeous dress (even if it does make my boobs look a tad too big) and is great for both summer and winter. I can see myself getting a lot more wear out of it in the colder months by layering it with wooly tights and thin tees underneath.
Here I paired it with a lemon yellow cropped cardigan that I have had for literally years. It's great for throwing over pretty dresses without ruining the shape of the dress. I love the cropped length as it sits nicely on the waist and looks really flattering.
You may notice that my hair looks different. And by different I mean more curly and just darn right pretty, haha. I got my hair like this in one of the simplest ways possible: a french plait. Literally just got out of the shower and plaited it whilst it was wet then took it out in the morning, ta da! I really like how it looks and don't know why I never thought of doing it before. The plait even made my dreads go curly and it lasted right until the next day without any hairspray at all. Score.
So expect to see curly locks more often.
*Another interesting way to show off my rings*
I've been busy getting things sorted for university today but I feel like I'm a lot more on top of things now. I picked my modules for my English course and then threw in a beginners Arabic course as a wild module. Gonna have three languages under my belt then, hell yeah. I also bought my freshers week pass thingy which I had to use my overdraft to pay for. Can't wait to have all my loans and bursaries. Just going to be rolling in it, haha.
Just going to say a big hello to my new followers, welcome to the ever growing family. I reckon as a way to thank you all I might to a post dedicated to all my fave blogs and what not. What do you think?
Woah, so I just crawled out from under my rock and man haven't I neglected some shit around here? Truth be told I just got a tad too caught up with various things such as my boyfriends and sisters birthday, helping my mum redecorate the hallway and the fact that one of my friends borrowed my camera for a bit. And on top of that my nan still isn't well and it's not looking too good if I'm honest.
Top: Mums
Shorts: Newlook
Bracelet: Present
Anyhow,
I bring to you another outfit post that I retrieved from my archives. I
actually wore something very similar to this on results night. I swapped the shorts for ones that were a tad longer so that it didn't look like I was just wearing a rather sheer top. I also threw on my gorgeous blue detailed waistcoat over the top just to jazz it up a bit. It was results night after all. I even wore pretty earrings.
I've had this top in my wardrobe for a while now but have never known how to style it as its a tad see through (as you can most likely tell. Note to self: wear nude bra next time) and is a bit of an awkward length as it was a hand me down from my mum and is actually a size 16. Though despite all of its flaws I still think its really pretty and hopefully I'll get more wear out of it, perhaps open like a waistcoat?
Me and my boyfriend also celebrated our first year anniversary a couple weeks ago which was sweet if pretty unorganised. I shouldn't have left it for him to plan, haha. We ended up catching a train to Halifax and eating fish and chips in the Piece Hall before the heavens opened and started to chuck it down. We took refuge in the sweet shop where Ross spend an absolute age picking something, he literally was like a kid in a sweet shop. I came away with a butterfinger (slightly disappointing), a coconut lollypop and some sour watermelon and apple thingies. Yum. We made our way back to mine where I was ever so romantic and laid a rug out in the garden, lit some candles and cracked open the Lambrini. I am oh so classy. It was sweet and Ross even saw a shooting star but I missed it unfortunately.
Ross is also coming over today and we plan on stuffing our faces with Chinese and watching Doctor Who. We've been 'treating' ourselves far too much recently with naughty snacks and takeaways though we only have a week or so before we both venture off to university so I suppose we're trying to make the most of the time we have left together. By eating crap.
Although we are going swimming tomorrow so that kind of makes up for it, right? We've also planned on heading to a car boot to have a nosy and see if we can snap up any bargains. I'll be sure to take my camera along and share any finds with you too.
Hope you are all well and thank you to all of you who read/comment and follow. It nice to know people like my blog. And I do check all of your blogs so be sure to leave me a link!
Because my friend in NZ is seeing them in January and I'm not.
