Living Life As A Poor Student.

Hello everyone, sorry for the short absence. I've been so busy these few days what with getting my results and my mum coming home after a week away to see my nan who is pretty ill at the mo. So this outfit is one I photographed a while back but hadn't got round to posting.

Anyway, just want to say thanks to all of you that wished me luck with my results. I am proud to say that I got into my first choice uni (University Of Kent) to study English Literature and Creative Writing and I actually cried when I found out. As for my results I got A* A B B! Not gonna lie I am super chuffed with my A* (in psychology) and it was totally unexpected.

Top: Customised
Skirt: DIY
Belt: Vintage
Fishnets: Primark

Naturally I celebrated in true teenage British style and got just a little drunk with my friends and played on singstar ever so badly. Safe to say I felt like utter shite in the morning but hey, you're only young once.

As for this outfit, it's probably one of the cheapest ones I have ever worn as the only thing I actually bought was the vintage belt which was a measly 2 pounds. You see I'm already living the life of a student. The top was a hand-me-down from a friend of mine which I hadn't worn until I attacked it with the scissors. I reckon I'll get much more wear out of it now.

The skirt was one of my very first DIY projects and I made it out of an old denim jacket of all things. I literally cut off the sleeves and collar then tapered it to fit my shape. It was really easy so head down to your local charity shop and give it a go.

I apologise for this photo. I didn't realise I was sticking my bum out, but it was the only back shot I had and I wanted to show off my dreads. It also makes my waist look smaller than it is which is a plus.

I've been looking at travel costs for getting down to uni and gosh it's pretty pricy isn't it? Although, the one thing that has really helped is the fact that I'll be getting a free rail card as I'm a Natwest customer which really helps. So if you're reading this and you're going into sixthform or whatever, get an account with Natwest because a free 4 year railcard is a godsend.

Just to clarify, no I am not getting paid by Natwest to say that.

On another note, take a look at these babies. Remember years ago say 2005 when being chavy was cool. Well me and my sister clubbed together to get these and we thought they were amazing. After being worn only a few times and years spent in a shoe box I'm bringing them back. Well actually I wore them all winter. But shush. They're making their blogging debut. I am still in two minds as to whether I should dye them or not, what do you think?

Whilst you ponder on that here's liberty X:

Because this is was my fave song that was sung on Thursday night.

Studs And Fruit.

Hello, so I've had a few full on days and quite emotional days at that. I blame my hormones. I said goodbye to one of my best friends a couple days ago as she's going to live in New Zealand. I'm really chuffed for her and I know she's going to have an amazing time but I will miss her. On the bright side I have a great place to go on holiday to now.

 Playsuit: Primark
Waistcoat: Customised

I ordered some studs of Ebay a fair while ago and they finally arrived last week after waiting for over a month with a cheeky note asking me to rate them full stars! And even then they had only sent me half the amount that I'd paid for. I wasn't impressed to say the least. Annoyances aside I spent a whole evening pushing studs through various items in my wardrobe, this waistcoat being one of them. I really like the way it turned out as its simple enough to not be too in your face but it just lifts the whole item. Job well done, if I do say so myself.

I haven't really got a lot to say today if I'm honest. I've just been feeling a little down in the dumps lately and drinking lots of tea. I've even stopped doing yoga as regularly as I was as I just can't be bothered and feel so blah. Note to self: make more effort.

Anyway, have a picture of my face and a cheery song.

Because my mum is borrowing my Ipod for a 6 hour coach journey and as I'm lovely I put all of her motown CD's onto it.

Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go.

Hello there. I'm currently listening to Wham! as I just felt like they were briefly missing from my life. Perhaps it's due to the fact that the sun has finally popped its head out from beneath the clouds and put me in a good mood. I was dancing around my room before I sat down to do this post. Don't judge me.

 Leopard Print Body: Ebay
Jeans: River Island
Belt: Vintage

Dancing aside, here's an outfit I wore when my mum dragged me to Leeds to finally sort out her phone. I was reluctant to go as I'm a lazy bugger but we actually had a great time. Apparently the Queen was visiting Leeds but I was too busy munching on a lasagne in Bella Italia to be entirely bothered.

The leopard print body is one that I purchased off Ebay when I was going through a leopard print phase. When it first arrived it looked tiny, and I mean it looked like a baby grow. Luckily it did fit after much speculation as I rather like bodies. I know a lot of people aren't fond of them as they can be pretty awkward to get in and out of (especially when you need to pee) and look much the same as tucking a top in yet there's something I just really like about them.

Perhaps it's the fact that I don't have to worry about bending over and gracing the world with my underwear.

Jacket: Charity Shop

This jacket was a charity shop find many moons ago when me and my mum had gone on one of our first charity shop expeditions. Now I am ashamed to say this was the first time I had ever worn it which is pretty bad considering the fact that I've had it lurking in my wardrobe for a good few months. Eek. I was just a little put off by it when my boyfriend said I looked like an emo. Nevertheless, it has grown on me so you might be seeing it on this blog a little more.

 Turquoise Ring: H&M
Above Knuckle Ring: Friend
Thumb Ring: Primark
Star Ring: Topshop

I also finally spent the 20 pound Topshop voucher that I received for my birthday which seems ages ago now. I'll be showcasing what I got in the next post or so, but here you can see the ring I snapped up in the sale. I'm getting quite a collection of rings now, reckon I need to target my pathetic selection of necklaces next.

As a final note you can follow me on either Twitter or Instagram if you so wish, just search safiyamarie and my face should pop up.

Here's Wham! for you to have a jig about to:

Because I don't want to be the only idiot dancing to it.
