Spread Your Wings.

I'm currently working my way through a bag of mint Werther's Originals and quite frankly they are delicious! My sweet tooth just cannot be contained. I'm going to be one of those people that just lives off sweets at university. With no teeth.

Anyway, my car boot venture at the weekend went pretty well if I do say so myself. I picked up a couple items and will share them with you as soon as they're out of the wash. As much as I love charity shops and car boots the clothes always stink. Always. So a quick spin in the washing machine is a definite must.

Dress: Charity Shop
Cardigan: Internationale (back in the day)

This dress is one I picked up a while ago from a charity shop and posted about in my charity shop treasures post. I must admit I don't know why it took me so long to finally wear it. Its a gorgeous dress (even if it does make my boobs look a tad too big) and is great for both summer and winter. I can see myself getting a lot more wear out of it in the colder months by layering it with wooly tights and thin tees underneath.

Here I paired it with a lemon yellow cropped cardigan that I have had for literally years. It's great for throwing over pretty dresses without ruining the shape of the dress. I love the cropped length as it sits nicely on the waist and looks really flattering.

You may notice that my hair looks different. And by different I mean more curly and just darn right pretty, haha. I got my hair like this in one of the simplest ways possible: a french plait. Literally just got out of the shower and plaited it whilst it was wet then took it out in the morning, ta da! I really like how it looks and don't know why I never thought of doing it before. The plait even made my dreads go curly and it lasted right until the next day without any hairspray at all. Score.

So expect to see curly locks more often.

*Another interesting way to show off my rings*

I've been busy getting things sorted for university today but I feel like I'm a lot more on top of things now. I picked my modules for my English course and then threw in a beginners Arabic course as a wild module. Gonna have three languages under my belt then, hell yeah. I also bought my freshers week pass thingy which I had to use my overdraft to pay for. Can't wait to have all my loans and bursaries. Just going to be rolling in it, haha.

Just going to say a big hello to my new followers, welcome to the ever growing family. I reckon as a way to thank you all I might to a post dedicated to all my fave blogs and what not. What do you think?

In the mean time have some of this:

Because this has been in my head all week.

My Rock Was Cosy.

Woah, so I just crawled out from under my rock and man haven't I neglected some shit around here? Truth be told I just got a tad too caught up with various things such as my boyfriends and sisters birthday, helping my mum redecorate the hallway and the fact that one of my friends borrowed my camera for a bit. And on top of that my nan still isn't well and it's not looking too good if I'm honest.

Top: Mums
Shorts: Newlook
Bracelet: Present

Anyhow, I bring to you another outfit post that I retrieved from my archives. I actually wore something very similar to this on results night. I swapped the shorts for ones that were a tad longer so that it didn't look like I was just wearing a rather sheer top. I also threw on my gorgeous blue detailed waistcoat over the top just to jazz it up a bit. It was results night after all.

I even wore pretty earrings.

I've had this top in my wardrobe for a while now but have never known how to style it as its a tad see through (as you can most likely tell. Note to self: wear nude bra next time) and is a bit of an awkward length as it was a hand me down from my mum and is actually a size 16. Though despite all of its flaws I still think its really pretty and hopefully I'll get more wear out of it, perhaps open like a waistcoat?

Me and my boyfriend also celebrated our first year anniversary a couple weeks ago which was sweet if pretty unorganised. I shouldn't have left it for him to plan, haha. We ended up catching a train to Halifax and eating fish and chips in the Piece Hall before the heavens opened and started to chuck it down. We took refuge in the sweet shop where Ross spend an absolute age picking something, he literally was like a kid in a sweet shop. I came away with a butterfinger (slightly disappointing), a coconut lollypop and some sour watermelon and apple thingies. Yum.

We made our way back to mine where I was ever so romantic and laid a rug out in the garden, lit some candles and cracked open the Lambrini. I am oh so classy. It was sweet and Ross even saw a shooting star but I missed it unfortunately.

Ross is also coming over today and we plan on stuffing our faces with Chinese and watching Doctor Who. We've been 'treating' ourselves far too much recently with naughty snacks and takeaways though we only have a week or so before we both venture off to university so I suppose we're trying to make the most of the time we have left together. By eating crap.

Although we are going swimming tomorrow so that kind of makes up for it, right? We've also planned on heading to a car boot to have a nosy and see if we can snap up any bargains. I'll be sure to take my camera along and share any finds with you too.

Hope you are all well and thank you to all of you who read/comment and follow. It nice to know people like my blog. And I do check all of your blogs so be sure to leave me a link!

Because my friend in NZ is seeing them in January and I'm not.

Vitamin C.

Hello everyone. I find out my A level results tomorrow morning. Oh my. To say the least, and excuse my french, I am shitting myself.

This time two years ago I was the complete opposite. GCSE's had been a breeze for me. I literally walked through them with very little effort. The long list of As didn't surprise me and was actually expected.

Fast forward to A levels and I am all over the place! I really do not want to have a repeat of March where I found out that my efforts were worth an E in my English Literature exam. After that I really tried so I hope its paid off. Either way I am getting drunk tomorrow evening with my friends and plan on not remembering much.

Dress: Primark
Hat: H&M

Ross made me American style pancakes this morning. The recipe served 4. We ate the whole lot to ourselves and I'm still feeling a tad sickly hours later. Moral of the story. Don't be greedy when it comes to American pancakes.

Keeping the food theme, take a look at my dress. It's covered in oranges! I bought this last year when my mum took me shopping for my birthday but the strap broke not long after so I hadn't worn it much. That is until I stopped being so lazy and finally sewed the accused strap back on. It was warm enough last week to wear this without tights though I reckon I'll still wear it in the winter with some thick tights and boots. Look at me talking about winter already.

Dread update: they're doing pretty good though a fair few of them are really loose so I reckon I'm going to have to redo them and not rush it this time. I washed them with a bicarbonate of soda wash for the first time a couple of days ago which should help them lock up nice and tight. If anyone has any advice on dreads that they would like to nudge in my direction I'd be very grateful. I've also been thinking about layering the loose hair that I've got on top to give my hair more shape, so I might attempt that some time soon. If I'm wearing a paper bag over my head in a few posts time you'll know its because I fucked it up.

*Me trying to show off my rings in a more interesting way*

Right I reckon it's time for me to drink some tea, catch up on blog posts, clean the house and then ring my nan as its her birthday today.

Love you nan!

Because the performance of this at the Olympics Closing ceremony was insane!

Studs And Fruit.

Hello, so I've had a few full on days and quite emotional days at that. I blame my hormones. I said goodbye to one of my best friends a couple days ago as she's going to live in New Zealand. I'm really chuffed for her and I know she's going to have an amazing time but I will miss her. On the bright side I have a great place to go on holiday to now.

 Playsuit: Primark
Waistcoat: Customised

I ordered some studs of Ebay a fair while ago and they finally arrived last week after waiting for over a month with a cheeky note asking me to rate them full stars! And even then they had only sent me half the amount that I'd paid for. I wasn't impressed to say the least. Annoyances aside I spent a whole evening pushing studs through various items in my wardrobe, this waistcoat being one of them. I really like the way it turned out as its simple enough to not be too in your face but it just lifts the whole item. Job well done, if I do say so myself.

I haven't really got a lot to say today if I'm honest. I've just been feeling a little down in the dumps lately and drinking lots of tea. I've even stopped doing yoga as regularly as I was as I just can't be bothered and feel so blah. Note to self: make more effort.

Anyway, have a picture of my face and a cheery song.

Because my mum is borrowing my Ipod for a 6 hour coach journey and as I'm lovely I put all of her motown CD's onto it.

Floral and Crochet.

Hello people of the internet. I'm currently sat with a mug of hot green tea and watching my cat sleep. Sounds creepy I know but she's so funny when she sleeps. She does this cute little twitch.

I reckon that's not something I should be plastering all over the internet. I can see a future as a crazy cat lady in store for me.

 Dress: Pop Boutique
Waistcoat: Primark
Belt: Primark

Anyway, lets move onto what you actually came here for: clothes. So I wore this outfit whilst I was just lounging around the house but felt like actually looking like a human rather than something the cat dragged in (yet more mentions of cats). This dress was a hand me down from my sister but was originally from Pop Boutique in Leeds, though there's a handful across the country and even one in Sweden, go figure. I wont lie I haven't been in a while, but whenever I have they have always had some really cool stuff which is pretty affordable. And believe me coming from a cheapskate I really do mean it's affordable.

I was having a play around with my hair and began french plaiting two bits at the side which I then incorporated into a full french plait. I quite like how it turned out despite some bits sticking out, yet I think they just add to it. Considering this girly hairstyle I went ahead and teamed the floral dress with a pretty crochet waistcoat that I got last year from Primark. I really do love this waistcoat as it's so easy to throw over anything

The majority of my rings are now from Ebay after I had a bit of a 'I need more rings' moment and promptly ordered a gazillion. Well not a gazillion, more like six. However, now that I have all these rings, I tend to stick to wearing the same ones. So in order to combat this I'm making more of a conscious effort to make use of my recent ring collection.

*This is me trying and failing to show you my anklet*

Speaking of Ebay, I'm currently selling a few things on there in case anyone is interested. There's a pair of work trousers that I'm selling for my mum so just ignore those if you so wish. Though there's a pair of floral shorts and a pretty check dress both currently at 99p so you'll definitely grab a bargain. I'm trying to get a bit of money together so I can get Ross his birthday present (I wont tell you what it is as I want it to be a surprise and I know he reads my blog. Yes I'm talking to you Ross!).

That aside, it's probably worth a look just so you can laugh at my selling banter.

Because it reminds me of all those Jam Nights I went to for Ross.

Denim and Check.

Hello there. I feel like I have been the ultimate lazy person for the past couple of days. Seriously, I could be eligible for a 'Laziest Person' award or some shit. I need to get my act together and stop waking up at midday and then having numerous cups of tea before actually getting out of bed.

Goal for tomorrow: Wake up before 12 in the afternoon.

Shirt: H&M
Dress: H&M (Given to me by a friend)
Fishnets: Primark

Laziness aside, here is an outfit that I wore last Wednesday (seems yonks ago, I know) when me and my good friend Ben took advantage of Orange Wednesdays and went to the cinema to see Snow White and The Huntsman. I had a fab time meeting up with Ben who left school two years ago to go to dance college so I don't get to see him much. It was nice as it wasn't awkward at all like it sometimes can be when you haven't seen someone in ages but we got on like a house on fire.

The film was surprisingly good considering my expectations were low due to Kristen Stewart being a bit of a stone when it comes to emotion. The fact that the film had a nice bit of eye candy in the form of Chris Hemsworth (Thor) made the whole film all the more enjoyable. Though I couldn't help notice that his part in Snow White was pretty much the same character as Thor only grubbier. Go figure.

Onto the clothes, after all that's what you're here for, right? This was a bit of fluke outfit in all honesty. I'd put on the dress with just a cardigan but felt too 'boring' so I threw on the shirt and tied it in a knot. I reckon it would have looked better with a red flannel shirt to stop my outfit look too...blue. Unfortunately I don't own a red flannel shirt (adds red flannel shirt to wish list) so the blue will have to do.

*Dread moustache? Don't mind if I do*

Just as an update on the dreads: I know have 15 little dread babies though they're not pictured as I made them yesterday with the help of the lovely Josie, when I say help I mean she stood and watched and kinda made sure my sections were even/straight. I'm going to leave my latest ones to settle a bit before making anymore. Ooh it's all exciting stuff.

Elephant Necklace: Ebay
Turquoise Ring: H&M
Skeleton Ring: Ebay
Skull Ring with Pearl: Ebay
Stupid Cuff: Stolen from the Boyfriend

Anyway folks I reckon that's enough from me. I should be back to normal regular blogging now, I've just been busy being sociable, which is a first for me. I normally just stay at home staring at the walls. I'm kidding.

Also just a big welcome to new followers and thank you to everyone who comments on these posts of mine. I read and reply to every single one.

Here's a bit of Coldplay to satisfy your ears:

Pirate Belt.

Hello there, today one of my charity shop treasures is getting its first feature on this blog of mine. This is the amazing Topshop find that I purchased for a measly £2.95 when I went out bargain hunting with my mum. It's so comfortable despite smelling strongly of flowery detergent (note to self: always wash charity shop items before wearing regardless of how excited you are to put them on) which I'm not keen on. I don't like my clothes smelling of anything other than clean, I guess. Some detergents are just a tad overpowering for me.

Top: Charity Shop
Leopard Print Bandeau (Worn Underneath): Ebay
Belt: Vintage
Skirt: Topshop

Anyway, enough of detergents this is after all a 'fashion' blog. I wore my leopard print bandeau underneath to protect my modesty as the jumper is just a tad see through. I would rather have worn my plain black one but I couldn't find it unfortunately. So leopard print it is, though I don't think it looks so bad.

 *Pow booty out the window*

I wore my 'new' jumper with my lovely Topshop maxi skirt and this gorgeous belt, what I call my pirate belt, that I found in a vintage shop which has sadly closed down now. I'm wearing the skirt high waisted though I'm not entirely sure it's meant to be worn like that, I'm just so god damn short!

You probably can't see them but I am now the proud owner of three dread locks! I'm already in love with them and cannot wait to make the next layer up, I just need someone else to make sure that my sections are even as I'd like them to be pretty neat. If anyone has/had dreadlocks please don't hesitate to give me some advice, although I've done a lot of research I'm still new to it all.

Elephant Necklace; Ebay
Flower Ring; Primark
Skeleton Ring: Ebay
Big Stone Ring: H&M
Above Knuckle Ring: Friend

I would just like to say thank you for all of your comments, I honestly read and reply to every single one. Also, hello to my new followers, welcome to the family!

So as a warm welcome I give you this:

Because everyone loves a bit o' Jason.

Charity Shop Treasures.

Hello dears, hope you are all well. A couple days ago me and my mum decided to go into town on a whim and see if there was anything good in the ol' charity shops. Sometimes when I go charity shop shopping I don't find many great items but this time we really weren't disappointed, I guess it was just one of those lucky days. As my mum is so lovely she decided to treat me to everything I got and even some tea with scones afterwards (loveyoumum).

In the first charity shop alone we found many a great item. This lovely denim shirt/ jacket being one of them.

It's originally from Firetrap and only cost £4.50. What a steal eh? I reckon I'm going to add a few studs to the collar or something, well I will when they bloody arrive. It still says they haven't been dispatched yet. Damn you Ebay!

This next Item has to be my fave, so much so that I am wearing it now. It's originally from Topshop and cost a measly £2.95.

My mum actually found it and I fell in love instantly. It's literally just a basic crop top with sleeves but there was just something about it that made me like it so much. Maybe it was the colour or that a number of outfits featuring this item popped into my head. Either way, it is now mine!

This little gem of a dress was another of my mums brilliant finds, originally from Warehouse but I can't remember how much it cost as I can't find the price tag after I excitedly pulled it off in order to try it as soon as we got home. It can't have been any more than a fiver making it a definite bargain. I can see myself styling this is so many ways so keep your eyes peeled.

I also bagged this copy of Catch-22 for just £1.50, now I must admit I have absolutely no idea what its about but one of my friends was reading and apparently its a classic. I'm such a poor excuse for a future English Literature student.

Although my aim for the summer is to read as much as humanly possible so perhaps by September I'll be a model student and wow everyone with my superb and diverse knowledge of Literature.

I wish.

It'll be my grandma's 80th birthday in August so I picked her up this photo album and plan to fill it with lots of family photos. The only problem is my family isn't the sort to take very many pictures together so I'll have to round up the motley crew and get a few snaps.

Well I reckon that's it for now, hope you enjoyed this post of my charity shop treasures so do comment if you would like to see more things like this. I have a few outfit posts lined up so expect one in a couple days.

For now here's a bit if gaga:

Because I had it stuck in my head.

Rain.

Good evening dears, as promised I sought another photo taking location and tried to make them seem more 'interesting'. My boyfriend Ross was over on Saturday so I thought I would give him the honour of taking some outfit shots for me.

We'd gone into town during the day where it was quite sunny so naturally I thought it would be sunny enough to take some outfit shots outside, how wrong was I? We were on the bus back it began to literally pour it down. So hence the indoor photos.

Top: Primark
Skirt: Hand me down from friend
Creepers: Ebay

I didn't really buy anything that interesting, tights from Primark and some buttons for a skirt I wanted to customise (Picture of it up on my Instagram and Twitter: Search for safiyamarie). We then went to Starbucks where I people watched and Ross marveled at my bloody iPhone. I swear that thing is getting more attention than me, lol.

*Excuse the russian doll*

*My hair looks awful cos it got rained on :( *

Anyway, enough about my boring life. Onto the outfit. I've had this skirt for a while but just not worn it much despite loving it. The annoying thing with it is that it constantly twists and rises up when I walk, which is a shame as it looks so nice. I paired it with a basic top from Primark and tied it in a knot at the side (which you cant really see in the pictures but we'll pretend you can) to make it into a bit of a crop top. I was going to give it the chop but I quite like the way it looked with the knot in, so I guess its safe from the scissors... for now.

I'm starting to get belly ache now. Does anyone else get that when they're tired? Just me? Thought so.

And on that note, here's something to pleasure your ears:

Because I love their whole bloody album.
